Colors in the Sky.
The other night I was coming home from Moscow and about 10 miles from Grangeville, came upon something really unexpected. It was dusk, the time of day where visibility isn't great, and I saw multiple sets of eyes start to reflect in my headlights. I watched and they didn't move but the closer I got, the bigger these deer seemed. Once I was within 30 yards of them I realized these deer were actually cows that were loose and on a connecting road. I was almost even with that road full of cows when another set of eyes appeared, as the head of another cow turned towards me. This brown cow, that by the way blended in perfectly with the wheat fields, was in the middle of my lane. I swerved and missed him by no more than a foot, and thought that my heart might beat too fast and just stop. I thanked God as I realized that in reality, hitting that cow would have totalled my little car, and I would have been seriously injured. God protected me, and I realized that I was very lucky. Not only that, but I don't think my parents could have handled a second totalled car in two weeks (my brother was in a fender bender, or cruncher, the week before).
God has his hand in my life and I am very thankful. There are so many other places outside my own life that I can see that as well. I can see it in him providing support for other people headed out to do ministry, and I can see it in the Bible (Nehemiah most recently). I see it in the changes of people's lives around me. So the next bad day I may have, I will need to just come back and read this, because I never need to forget what God has done for me.
