Today I am crying over the deception people are caught in.

As I sit here and write this post, there is a part of me that is screaming. I want to cry, because there are people on this earth that belittle God, take glory from him, and lead others away from truth. I have been reading on one particular sect recently because I have met some women that have been influenced by the sect's teachings. I will not specify simply because the wrong done by this one "church" has been done by many others as well. And in the end it's all a complete attack on God, and His word.

The Bible teaches that humans have been sinful since the time Adam and Eve first took a bite of the forbidden fruit. It teaches that no person is able to get past that sin, make up for it, or live a perfect life (Romans 3:23, 6:23). God loved us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to walk on this earth, and to be a sacrafice for all sins (John 3:16, Acts 10:34-35, Romans 5:8, 8:37-39, Ephesians 2:4-5). When He was nailed to the cross the sins of the world were nailed with Him. Jesus died and rose three days later, conquering death and through that victory offering all of us life (John 20:1-2, Colossians 2:13-15, 1 Peter 2:24-25). The Bible says that if we believe, call on His name, and cofess our sins that we will be saved. It takes no more than this, but no less. We must accept this free offering. When Jesus died for our sins he gave us a way to freely come to God, because the barrier was torn away (John 14:6, Acts 3:19, 4:10-12, Romans 3:21-24, 8:1-4, 10:9-10, 11:6, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Galations 1:3-5, 2:17-21, Colossians 2:13-15, 1 Timothy 1:14, 2:3-6, Titus 3:4-7, 1 John 1:9, 1 Peter 3:18) . When someone accepts forgiveness and salvation, the Holy Spirit seals them, so that they are children of God(John 1:12-13, 14:16-19, Romans 8:15-17, 1 Corinthians 2:12, Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 John 3:1-2). God loves us so much He did that, even though He did not have to!

The Bible also teaches that God is the only God(John 1:14&18, 14:10-11, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 1:15-23). That He revealed himself through as the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. God is a jealous God that demands that you serve no other. He is a God that loves, forgives, punishes, saves, etc. God gives us guidelines for our lives in the Bible, but not because those save, but because those are a demonstration of the changes that God has made in our lives. The Bible says it is the only message from God, and that we can know him through it (Hebrews 4:12-13). How can anyone teach differently? The question isn't really even how, it's why would they.

There are people in this world who teach that a person cannot understand that Bible unless it is spelled out for them by annointed teachers....there are people in this world who teach that we must work to be saved....there are people in this world who teach that you can never know if you are saved until God returns, so you better just do what the "organization" says....there are people in this world who teach that indivualism is a sin (well then why did God say that he gave us all different gifts to work together as a body does with Christ as the head[Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 4:11-13])....there are people in this world who act because the church says not because they want to love and serve their God....there are people in this world who question God's soveriegnty and take others with them down this path.

I serve a God that offers me freedom from sin. I serve a God that has changed my life. I serve a God that teaches me through the Bible. I serve a God that loves me and calls me to love others. I serve a God that has all power on heaven and earth, that will not be foiled simply by false teachers. The list goes on and on. It makes me so sad, and so angry, that people would distort the message of the Bible. I know though that even as I write this that God cannot be stopped by these people, and my feelings are not going to stop them either. What I can do is pray, and continue to live a life that glorifies God. He has called me to Croatia not to serve an organization, but to love Him, know Him, and share with others what the Bible shows God to be. Simply what I bring to it is a joyful heart, and the story of how my life has been changed.

I hope that this makes you think, that it makes you pray, and that it makes you seek truth from the Bible alone. And I also hope it encourages you. God is always by our side, and it's a matter of acknowledging that and walking with Him.
